UNP M.P. Dayasiri Jayasekera addressing a meeting at Panadura, stated , this is a Govt. which after celebrating General Sarath Fonseka as a War Hero soon after winning the war , is now calling him a traitor. This is because the Govt.
has lost its right senses and its memory after the raging rumors that Gen . Fonseka is going to contest the President at the next Presidential elections. The Govt. and the President have become so jittery that the President is now frightened even to make an announcement about the Presidential elections . After talking about Presidential elections for many months before Gen. Fonseka’s rumor erupted, the President is slinking now so much so that he has developed a phobia for the elections. He is dumbfounded.
The President has therefore launched on another option to malign Gen. Fonseka as a traitor . Like how the promises he made in the Mahinda Chintana at last Presidential elections and forgot them after winning ; The President who extolled the Army Commander Fonseka when the latter led the Forces to victory , has forgotten him and the victory , and in a sudden morbid megalomaniac affliction, making his Govt. to call General Fonseka a traitor, he observed.
